Successful buyout saves local jobs
More than 20 jobs have been saved after a Blackpool utilities firm acquired a rival company.
Just weeks after announcing deals totalling £12m, bosses at Ameon have bought Electrical Installations North West for an undisclosed sum.
The firm was one of several suitors bidding for the specialist electrical contractor, which was formerly part of the Electrum group of companies, and the purchase was conducted through the administrator, called in when the group ran into difficulties.
It has effectively acquired the business assets and skill base of the company and has saved around 24 skilled jobs on the Fylde as a result of the purchase.
Earlier this month, Ameon announced a raft of new deals amounting to around £12m.
Established in 1996, the firm's turnover has risen steadily over the decade and is now around the 17m mark. Forecasts for next year are for a turnover of £20m.
